(Mount Prospect, IL) – For families facing serious illness, seeing beyond the challenges can be difficult. When Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care launched their endowment campaign, Seeing Beyond the Rain, overcoming those challenges was central to the theme.

Now in its second year of a five year campaign, Seeing Beyond the Rain has struck a chord with more than just donors, taking home a 2012 Golden Trumpet Award from the Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC). The PCC, which is the region’s leading communication professionals organization, recognized Rainbow Hospice’s endowment campaign at the 53rd Annual Golden Trumpet Awards on May 9.

The Golden Trumpet Awards is a local competition that recognizes excellence in public relations and communications and is heralded as the premier awards program in Chicagoland for communication professionals. This year, the PCC judged a record 172 entries in more than 20 categories, and Seeing Beyond the Rain received a Silver Trumpet in the Brochures, Booklets or Books category for the campaign booklet.

The campaign materials were designed by The Impact Elevator located in Lake Zurich, IL and headed by a friend and volunteer of Rainbow Hospice, Ellen Weiss. The campaign itself, focused on ensuring Rainbow Hospice’s continued ability to provide exceptional services including hospice, bereavement support, and education.

“This award is a great recognition of the high quality programs and services at Rainbow Hospice and an acknowledgement in the strength of our endowment campaign,” said Dave Samson, Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Rainbow Hospice.

Copies of the award-winning campaign materials are available on the Rainbow Hospice endowment website at http://www.rainbowhospice.org/beyond. Anyone interested in finding out more about the campaign or how to become involved can call 847-692-8882.
