Pat Ahern has served as President and Chief Executive Officer to the non-profit, community-based Rainbow Hospice since 1996. She has a background in managing patient-care services as well as in managing change initiatives for such health care organizations as Catholic Health Partners, St. Joseph Health Centers and Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital of Evanston.

She earned her MBA from North Park University, Chicago; her bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University, Chicago; and her diploma in nursing from St. Francis Hospital, Evanston.   She received a certificate in Managing Organizational Change in 1992 from Organizational Development Resources, Inc., and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Lake Forest Graduate School of Business. 

Currently she serves on the Governance Committee and the Public Policy Committee of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, the Board of Directors of the Illinois State Hospice Organization and has been a Rotarian since 1998.
