Grieving children experience loss in so many ways: feeling sad, lonely, withdrawn or unfocused. Your child may wish things were the way they used to be and not know how to express that desire, experiencing profound upheavals in everyday life.
The Good Mourning Children’s Program works with you to provide the best help for your child, teen and family. You will receive helpful information and emotional support from our staff and from other families facing life-changing loss. You can attend weekly and/or monthly support groups.
Monthly support meetings provide age-appropriate groups for children from ages three to 18. Your child can participate in expressive art or topic-related activities to explore different aspect of his or her grief in a safe, loving environment.
Short-term support groups are based on a proven curriculum developed over 12 years offer you and your children the opportunity to examine grief issues, establish meaningful connections and develop coping skills.
Annual holiday gathering offers the chance to share a meal and take part in a child-friendly service of remembrance and quiet celebration.
Annual family camp provides a healing weekend away for you and your children. The session offers the opportunity for you and your child to experience the excitement of new learning, the strength of friendship, the joy of playfulness and the warmth or remembrance.
