Interfaith Memorial Service is an ecumenical prayer service for family and friends whose loved ones were served by Rainbow Hospice and/or who participate in our Adult Grief Groups. All community bereaved who wish to remember their loved ones are welcome. Registration requested.

Held at:  First United Methodist Church of Park Ridge, 418 W. Touhy Ave., Park Ridge.

LGBTQ Grief Group is a monthly group designed to help grieving members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning communities to find support and information as they mourn someone they love. Registration required for first time attendees only.  Fee:  $5.00 per session

Held at:  Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted, Chicago

Sibling Loss

 Adult Loss of Sibling is a six session group for adults grieving the loss of a sibling.  Registration required.  Fee:  $90.00 for 6 sessions.  Held at:  Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Hwy., Suite 145, Park Ridge

 

Spousal Loss

Fourth Wednesday
May 28, June 25; 1:00--2:30 pm
Holding Onto Hope is a monthly day-time group for widowed persons 55 and older who are grieving the loss of a spouse. Fourth Wednesday of the month. Registration required.  Fee: $5.00 per session. Held at:  Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Hwy., Suite 145, Park Ridge

May 13 & 27, June 10 & 24

7:00-8:30 pm

Widowed Support Group is an ongoing group that addresses the losses faced by persons, as a general guideline, who have been widowed less than 18 months.  Second and Fourth Tuesday of the month.  Fee:  $5.00 per session. Held at:  Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Hwy., Suite 145, Park Ridge

Younger Widowed Support Group is an ongoing support group for younger widowed persons who have dependent children at home and/or are 55 years of age or younger.  Second Tuesday of the Month.  Fee:  $5.00 per session. Held at:  Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Hwy., Suite 145, Park Ridge

Fourth Tuesday

May 27, June 24;  7:00-8:30 pm

Life Transitions Group is an ongoing support group for those who, as a general guideline, have been widowed for one to three years.  Fourth Tuesday of the month.  Volunteer facilitated.  Fee:  $5.00 per session. Held at:  Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Hwy., Suite 145, Park Ridge

Children’s Program

Third Monday
May 19, June 16
6:45-8:00 pm

 

Good Mourning Program is a monthly support group for children, teens and families who have lost a loved one through death.  Preliminary interview required prior to registration.  Third Monday of the month. 

 

Counseling

Program

One-to-one counseling offers an ongoing therapeutic relationship that empowers a person to make positive changes in his/her situation. It offers vital support to those coping with the effects of life-limiting illness, death and grief.

 

Fees are collected through Medicare, insurance companies and private pay. The fee for the first six sessions is waived for loved ones of Rainbow Hospice patients.

Motherless Daughters Workshop is for women whose mothers died at any time in their lives. Co-sponsored by Rainbow Hospice and Loyola University Health System-Home Health and Hospice. Held at: Loyola University Center, Stritch School of Medicine, 2160 S. First Ave., Maywood.

Father Loss Workshop if for men and women whose fathers died at any time in their lives. Registration required. Space limited, please register early. Fee:  $15

Fees for workshops and groups are listed.  If you cannot pay the full fee, we ask that you pay an amount which does not cause a hardship for you.  Fees waived for family/ loved ones of Rainbow Hospice patients.
