Charity Grand Opening Raises Over $16,000 for Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care
(Park Ridge, IL) – On Friday, May 29th the Amphora Home Store held a Grand Opening Celebration for their new flagship location in the rotunda of Park Ridge’s Shops of Uptown. More than 450 people were in attendance including the newly elected Mayor of Park Ridge, Dave Schmidt; Park Ridge Chamber Executive Director, Gail Haller; and Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care CEO, Pat Ahern.
The night included a preview party and private shopping event where furniture, decorations and other design elements flew off the shelves, live music, luxury model home tours, as well as catering from All on the Road and support from more than 18 other Park Ridge businesses.
Success is in the name for Amphora, a local home furnishings store, whose moniker comes from the two-handled vase used in nearly every household of the Ancient Greek Civilization. Amphora, the business, expands on the history of their name and its widespread use, with modest pricing around the idea that every home can afford to be beautifully decorated.
That strategy has made Amphora a thriving business, especially during the current economic downturn. In the wake of that success, Amphora decided to move from their modest storefronts to a flagship position in the rotunda of the Shops of Uptown to expand the size and diversity of their offerings.
As if doing well in this economy wasn’t enough, Amphora also dedicated their grand opening celebration to Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care, a local non-profit that supports terminally ill people and their families. Tickets from the event brought in more than $16,000 for Rainbow Hospice.
“It’s exciting that in these economic times we are able to showcase a success story that combines business growth with a strategic community partnership. This was an exciting night for Amphora, for Rainbow Hospice and for the community of Park Ridge,” said Pat Ahern, President and CEO of Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care.
