Widowed Persons Volunteer

Description: Provide periodic phone and in-person follow-up support to newly widowed people, assist with social events and educational/community-outreach projects. Also attend once-a-month evening support meeting to discuss related issues.

Day(s) Needed: Any

Time(s) Needed: Calls are made at the mutual convenience of volunteers and newly widowed persons. Monthly meeting is a 90-minute commitment.

Scheduled Training Dates: 10-hour training program presented under contract with AARP held twice a year, typically Feb/Mar and Oct/Nov on a Saturday and the following Monday and Wednesday evenings.
